1ST QUARTER WORKPLAN: JANUARY – MARCH 2009:
1. Preparatory documentations to produce a brief project concept for stakeholders and research questionnaire and to undertake all the necessary internal meetings
2. Research and Information gathering to collect data and information about the background of Nima and Maamobi markets from Chiefs, Opinion leaders, Member of Parliament, Assembly members and other community stakeholders
3. Data analyses on the information gathered from the research and packaging the information for further deliberation at subsequent workshops and meetings
4. Video documentary on the Nima and Maamobi markets to serve as a reference point in the course of advocacy and during lobbying meeting so as to win public and government support for the upgrading of the two market.
2ND QUARTER WORKPLAN: APRIL – JUNE 2009:
5. Capacity building workshop to train the market leaders on advocacy, community mobilization, documentation and leadership skills
6. Community consultative forum for the people of Nima to enable the Project Team report on the result of the research and to discuss further the upgrading of the Nima Market
7. Review meetings with stakeholders in Nima specifically with the market leaders and Assembly members to access the result of the interventions
3RD QUARTER WORKPLAN: JULY – SEPTEMBER 2009:
8. Community consultative forum for the people Maamobi to enable the Project Team report on the result of the research and to discuss further the upgrading of the Maamobi Market
9. Review meetings with stakeholders in Maamobi specifically with the market leaders and Assembly members to access the result of the interventions
10. Advocate and lobby to create public and media awareness through radio discussions, and press release and meeting with East Ayawaso Sub-metro officials and Member of Parliament on the upgrading on Nima and Maamobi markets
4TH QUARTER WORKPLAN: OCTOBER – DECEMBER 2009:
11. Capacity building to strengthen the market leaders on lobbying, Citizen government engagement, Right Based Approach and communication skills to effectively engagement with duty bearers
12. Advocate and lobbying through TV and meeting with Accra Metropolitan Assembly and 1st or 2nd Lady to increase public and media awareness and the inclusion of the upgrading of the Nima and Maamobi markets in the government budget
13. Follow-up meetings with Chiefs, Religious leaders and Opinion leaders on how best to pressure government to fulfill its promise on the upgrading of the Nima and Maamobi Market
1ST QUARTER (2ND YEAR) WORKPLAN: JANUARY – MARCH 2010:
14. Monitoring and Evaluation of the one year project activities
15. Lobbying meeting with the Regional Minister, Accra Metropolitan Assembly, East Ayawaso Sub-metro, Member of Parliament and Assembly members to fast track the upgrading of the Nima and Maamobi markets
16. Protest through a sensitization walk to East Ayawaso Sub-Metro, Accra Metropolitan Assembly and the Regional Minister to pressure for the upgrading of the Nima and Maamobi markets
2ND QUARTER (2ND YEAR) WORKPLAN: APRIL – JUNE 2010:
17. External Evaluation of the entire project activities by an independent Evaluator/Consultant
