Background:
The Nima and Maamobi is a twin community within the East Ayawaso Sub-Metropolitan Assembly of Accra Metropolitan Assembly (AMA) of Greater Accra Region. It has a population of about 200,000 inhabitants.
The economic venture being practiced by the community members is petty trading.
The community has a high number of unemployment leading to poverty, crime and violence, high illiteracy rate, poor sanitation, school dropout, inadequate investment in infrastructure, gender inequality and low level of women participation in decision-making.
Benefits:

The ability of the market women and traders to invest in the education of their children would help contribute to the achievement of the MDG2 (Universal Primary Education) by the set target.
